Starting a Chapter 

  

A colony of Phi Sigma Phi is formed by male students on a college or university campus. A Colony may be considered a "probationary chapter", that is, the men of the colony are working for recognition as a full chapter of Phi Sigma Phi.

  

 

Step 1 : Find 7-10 interested and dedicated men.

Step 2 : Complete all paperwork required to establish a chapter (with regards to Phi Sigma Phi and university requirements).

Step 3 :  Colonization ceremony performed by current members and national staff.

Step 4 :  Complete and sustain set of GOALS (see below) in 3 Semesters or less.

Step 5 : Receive your charter and become a fully recognized chapter of Phi Sigma Phi.

 

 

Goals of a Colony


  • Collect dues of $75 Per man per semester

  • Host an annual Philanthropy Project

  • Develop a concise fundraising budget

  • Develop and submit local constitution to our National Headquarters

  • Attain membership in Campus IFC, or become a recognized student organization

  • Demonstrate a successful rush period

  • Acquire membership of 30 men, consisting of 95% non-graduating (returning) members.
