The History of Phi Sigma Phi National Fraternity
Phi Sigma Phi's origin is more accurately defined as a culmination of high standards and vision of a core group of quality men.
In 1988, these men came together in South Bend, Indiana to form what would become the first National Fraternity to survive more than 10 years since the early 1900's.
The original 7 chapters, or "The Founding Seven" were alumni and former chapter members of Phi Sigma Epsilon who elected not to participate in a merger between Phi Sigma Epsilon and Phi Sigma Kappa in 1985.
Since its inception, Phi Sigma Phi has defied all odds, attracting members in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. In 1997, Phi Sigma Phi was officially recognized as the 66th member of the NIC.
Currently, Phi Sigma Phi has 9 chapters and a number of potential colonies ranging across the United States.
We are looking for men of vision, strength, and determination to not only secure their own futures, but the future of Phi Sigma Phi.
